Should I still dispute a parking charge if the driver is technically at fault

Hi,

My parents parked at Wembley designer outlet on an event day. They parked in the red car park. They were under the assumption if they spent beyond the threshold required their parking would be free - they spent over £250 at a restaurant with friends. They then had their ticket validated by a member of staff and left the car park.

However, it seems they got confused, as it allows you to get discounted parking rates on event day rather than a free parking.

Here is the excerpt from the website: https://www.londondesigneroutlet.com/wembley-event-day-guide/

On event days London Designer Outlet guests spending more than £40 at LDO’s shops, restaurants and/or Cineworld Wembley will (subject to availability) be able to park for the normal tariff for the first six hours (offer excludes pre-booked parking). To qualify for this special LDO guest rate, your ticket must be validated at Red Car Park Office before you leave.

They have now received a PCN from UK Parking Patrol Office. The restaurant they ate at are unable to help. I submitted an appeal on their behalf (not admitting the driver) (https://parkingpatrol.co.uk/) but as expected, the appeal was rejected.

My question - clearly they did not read the signs or terms properly. Should they pay the PCN of £60 (reduced from £100 if paid within 14 days) or have I grounds to continue with appeal process and refuse to pay.

Many Thanks

    Nobody pays UKPPO.

Forget that! The industry is greedy, unregulated and out of control. Do NOT pay them off.

The signs can't have been clear enough. The driver is not to blame.

Show us both sides of the NTK.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
