Amazon refund revoked

That didn't answer the question. Their algorithm is perhaps not based on a ratio. If you've placed 1000 orders and returned 50 of them they might consider you more trouble than you're worth.
Try the phone. If it's fixed, why wouldn't you keep it, along with your Amazon account? Surely that's easier than arguing for weeks/months or going to court to try and sort it out, along with potentially having your account closed?

@annette1958 - "… There was no paperwork from repair with the returned phone and to be honest I haven,t tried it since …"
You first need to check if it's been repaired.
In effect the consumer rights Act 2015 gives Amazon the option either to repair or to replace when you first raise a fault with them. It's only if that repair or replacement fails that you are then entitled to a refund under the legislation.
Whether somebody in CS saying they can refund you overrides their statutory right to have one attempt at either repair or replacement, I dunno…

Yes as I had bought a new phone before they sent the other one back , as far as I was concerned Amazon were refunding me (their suggestion not my request) I still want Amazon to honour the refund as promised .

In which case, you need to return the phone and then sue them if necessary. They have no obligation to refund you while you still have the phone.

I am lost
Amazon said they would refund so of course the OP wants said promised refund.
Whether the phone works or does not wrk is completly itrrelevant
( This all assumes that I have understood the actual situation correctly As her late majesty the Queen used to observer recollections may vary)

Someone working from Amazon saying a refund would take place does not mean a refund would take place, and the subsequent "its being repaired" message superseded that one. Companies do not have to comply with mistakes their staff make.
That mistake opens up the option to complain to Amazon, but it does not mean Amazon have to change their position, not does it alter the OPs rights with respect to faulty goods.
So, as it is, the OP returned the phone as faulty. The seller said a fault could not be identified. The OP should be checking whether the phone does or does not have a fault.

I note the OP is being evasive about answering the question on number and nature of returns.
