Rights for a booked package holiday
Hi
Just wanted to know where my husband and I stand in regards to our holiday booked for the end of this month.
We are going to Egypt - we have been told that the area we are going to is not affected with the war happening in the middle east but…
Because of the fuel shortage we have been told there is a curfew in Egypt after 9pm, so this means that really we can't leave our hotel in the evening as nothing will be open.
We have just had an email today saying that there now will be construction work going on in the grounds of the hotel, so there may be some noise.
We have waited so long for this holiday which is more and more seeming to be nothing like the holiday we signed up for.
I have read our T's & C's and basically we can't cancel without a loss, where do we stand?
Any advise would be appreciated..

The temporary 9pm curfew introduced in March was reportedly reversed in April?
You'd only have cancellation rights (for a refund) if there are significant/major changes to the facilities being provided (or unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances affecting the trip), so think you'd struggle to make that case here I'm afraid.
Have you interacted with the TripAdvisor forums for your resort and/or hotel to ascertain the current state of play?

Try not to prejudge things, it may not be as intrusive as you think. For example, if its an AI resort somewhere, realistically were you going to be outside the hotel after 9pm anyway?
If the t&c don't allow you to cancel without a loss thats probably the final legal position, but you can definitely speak to the travel agent and put your case across to see if they will do anything as a goodwill gesture.
Hopefully the holiday will still be enjoyable, but keep detailed records of any issues and complain to the hotel and travel agent at the time so you have the best chance of getting compensation afterwards too.
