Failed POPLA appeal - anything else I can do?

I won't bore everyone with the full details but I parked at an NCP car park to take my partner to a hospital appointment. I tried in various ways to pay the fee, and got as far as the machine saying my ticket was printing - but nothing ever came out. By now we were going to be late so I left a note in the car (I know no-one was likely to read it but still..). When I got the fine I explained the details and was offered to pay £20 'as a gesture of goodwill' which I probably should have. But it was the principle that got me - the fact they wouldn't acknowledge any of the problems I had encountered and the stress caused when I was trying to pay and couldn't. So I appealed to POPLA and have just been told this has been unsuccessful. They directed me to the CAB website but I couldn't see anything on there that would help. I will probably just suck it up and pay but it instinctively feels wrong to not have any acknowledgement that their system paid a part in my not being able to pay at the time - or of the increase in my blood pressure when I was trying to do so!!!

They are in receivership at the moment, so you could ignore them and wait for a Letter of Claim or a Money Claim

A heads-up - never refer to these speculative invoices as "fines" - you will never find that word in any of their comms.

Stop. You will never have to pay this.

Nobody pays NCP (they are in administration and won't attend court hearings) but my goodness I wish you'd come here before appealing.

The NTK was probably non-POFA worded so this would have been a cinch to win at POPLA, had you not said you were driving.

Don't compound that error by paying!
