Pub parking fine

Hi All, probably a simple case here. I parked in a pub car park. Before entering the pub, i quickly skimmed the sign, and found a sentence which stated that patrons of the pub park for free. Once I had read that one sentence, I went inside the pub.

A notice to keeper (POFA2012) from PPS (premier parking solutions) has been sent to me.
Reason: No trace of payment.

I emailed the pub, first asking why I got this charge, they replied saying that there is a tablet in the pub where you must enter your car details to avoid the charge. I emailed them a second time asking for them to cancel, they said they couldn't.

I have no proof I was in this pub, as my friend paid. I could ask him to dig out the transaction proof but im not going to do that.

I want to know if I have a case to either
A) fight this charge due to what it said on the sign
B) press the pub to cancel it.

They want £100. This is BS. Should I fight it?

Definitely not a fine, just an invoice from a private parking company due to not using the tablet on the bar to register the VRM details on entry, a common requirement these days

Signage always plays a part in these cases

Definitely press the pub, pub chain or brewery to cancel it ASAP

We won't advise you to pay it

the pub managers saying they cant, I doubt the chain will care. is there any strategy to take here other than hounding them with phone calls? with regards to the parking letter, shall i just ignore it or go through their appeals procedure? Im new to this iv never had one of these parking enforcement letters

Definitely complain to the pub chain because they probably hired the parking company, not pub itself, preferably do everything in writing

A possible court claim could be the eventual outcome, if you dont get it cancelled, so better to annoying from the beginning

You can try an appeal if you can go back and get photos of unclear signs and how hidden the keypad is. Really good images can win at POPLA if this is a BPA AOS member firm.

But equally valid (alternative option) is totally ignoring the threatograms, or ignoring them if you "lose" the farce of the POPLA "appeal".

Or is it an IPC firm?

Exactly which "premier parking solutions" is this company please?

im not sure how hidden the keypad is, I didnt see it. Also, i didnt read the full sign, which was very clear, but a lot of text. I just read "pub patrons park free" and walked away once i saw that sentence.

There is an IPC logo at the bottom of the letter, and Premier Parking Solutions Ltd, registration number 06659134 . I have not yet read the full newbie thread, will look at post 4 now., thank you
