Best Schengen‑compliant travel insurance for 180‑day single trip?
Hi everyone,
I need to buy single‑trip travel insurance for a Schengen visa application, and I’m struggling to find providers that meet all the requirements.
The policy must:
• Be valid for the Schengen area
• Include minimum €30,000 medical coverage
• Be valid for at least 180 consecutive days
• Include my name, surname, and passport number on the certificate
• Have no restrictions based on country of residence or departure
Could anyone recommend reliable insurers that offer this type of long‑duration Schengen‑compliant cover?
Thank you in advance!

Not sure what your reason for 180 days stay is for but you are only allowed 90 days in 180 days.
If I have got your OP wrong then sorry.

They're applying for a visa so it will depend on which type, a basic tourist visa would be 90 days max but you can get much longer ones.
Personally would check with the country you are applying to on what their requirements are as they do vary. Dont know any UK insurer that puts your passport number on the policy but then most coming from the UK dont need insurance/a visa

Axa seem to offer a product specifically for this scenario:

It is a working visa.

Yes, I’ve looked at AXA Schengen Insurance. The only issue is that their system only allows selecting dates slightly under 180 days (usually 175–179).
My visa requirement states that the policy must:- provide a minimum of 180 consecutive days of coverage, and
- be valid from the date of visa submission.
So I’m trying to find insurers who can issue a certificate showing the full 180 days.

It's a working visa so assuming you have a job to go to abroad why don't you ask the company that will be employing you?

What claims to be the Spanish visa application site has links to insurance, not recommending and not saying it's definitely the valid website but they went up to a 12 month trip.
Valid from doesnt mean its in force from, just needs to have been bought in advance. At least that would be my reading of it.
