Ring the helpline on the dyson and ask about having it serviced

We're getting ours done a week on Wednesday, I rang yesterday and the most they will charge you, no matter how many parts need replacing, is £65. I've heard lots of good things about them. The parts are then guaranteed for 1 year and if anything breaks in that year it's only £25 no matter how many parts (even if they are different to the original parts that were replaced)

I could have bought a hoover for cheaper than £65 but not of as good quality I dont think!

The number if you havent got it is 01666827272

  • I can thoroughly reccomend the Dyson Customer Services.
My Dyson DCO7 Suddenly became ill and stopped working in November and I simply couldn't afford a new Dyson (nothing else will do!)
Reading this site I took the plunge and rang them.
To try and save me uneccessary expense the English speaking gentleman asked if I had done a few obvious checks and then sent me a new cyclone filter bit FREE OF CHARGE!! (That's the big turquoise bit that houses all the cyclones and sits inside the clear dust collector bit) as my particular model had been upgrade with this new part. Sadly when the new part came my Dyson was still dead so I rang them again and an Engineer was booked to call within 3 days.
I was given the option to pay £20 which covered just the on/off switch and the cable or £65 which covered EVERYTHING.
I chose the £65. option.... Where alse could I get a new Dyson for that much?
The engineer arrived and promptly diagnosed my dear Dyson had suffered major motor failure....sniff...sniff..
Within 40 mins he had replaced the motor, put a new Hepa filter on, A motor retainer, An internal hose, A steel Hose, A new soleplate and a clear bin base.
All these parts are now guaranteed for a further 12 months!
He even cleaned up the mess afterwards.:A

The only parts which are not included in this are the three attachment tools.
HTH in your decision to get it serviced/ repaired.
    Regards

I have problems with my dc07 and despite the vacuum cleaner being over 2 years I got a new cyclone (sent by post) and when that didnt fix the problem they came and fitted a new motor as it was over heating all for free

Thats why I recommend Dyson for the CS is the best I have come across

I agree with the above posters. Our Dyson was nearly 4 years old when it lost suction. Called the helpline, they said the max I would get charged was £55, this was last year, the man came at arranged time, even phoned to check it was still ok. He charged me only £25 and he replaced the motor, belt, cyclone bit and brush bar. Absolute bargain in my opinion:money:

I found they very friendly and prompt. They said most I could be charged was £55 then but the guy came and fixed it even put own dust cover down and when asked "is there a charge?" he said "no"

Wish I'd known all this when I took mine to a local repair agent of Dyson's It cost me over £60 just for a new cyclone bit. It was only necessary in the first place because the cyclone had become blocked with dust. So much for the 'never loses suction, ever' claim. Does anyone else find the Dyson totally useless for hard floors and long mats? There is no way to adjust the suction so I have to get out another cleaner to do the vinyl floors and mats, which the Dyson tries to suck off the floor. I only keep it because it does get the grit out of the main carpet.

I have had 2 Dysons repaired at home. THe current one is a dc07 and the motor burned out when it was about 4 years old. I called the helpline and the sent an engineer out. When he took the motor out he deemed it a manufacturers fault and replaced it Free of Charge! He also serviced the whole thing changing belt, filter etc, new brush, new tools and even sent a new soleplate in the post as he didn't have one on the van! All for zero pounds!
