Hi
Apologies for being so vague, but never been Turkey and would love to combine as much as I can within our stay.
Considering going Turkey for 2/3 weeks but want to move around Turkey. How easy is it to travel around, the areas I had in mind were Marmaris, Istanbul, Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Icmeler. Doesnt have to be all the locations, but I wasnt sure if they are all within a reasonable commutable and affordable distance.
The things that really matter is that I would ideally like to visit the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, have a beach holiday with water sports, camel riding and visit to the fake designer markets.
Is there anything which is recommended whilst in Turkey that I havent mentioned, i.e excursions or somewhere specific to visit?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

prob not much help, but me and 3 friends took a holiday to Marmaris last July, and had a fantastic time, such a lovely area, the town is just like normal towns sometimes it can be a little dirty in places - however I am very picky about these things, but the rest of Marmaris was a lovely place to be, the beach/sea front area was very picturesque,
Trips we went on were -
Turkish baths (awesome - however go on the first or second day as it’s not so good if you are burnt)
Trip to mud baths and turtle beach - mud baths were a experience, and you have to have a go if you haven’t been before, however I wouldn’t go on a regular basis as removing the mud was a nightmare, turtle beach is one of the places I will never forget!!!! Total paradise!!!! if you go you will total understand what I’m saying, sand and sea for as long as the eye can see, defo worth spending the day here, we was only there for a few hours, and really regret that.
the marmaris water park was in a lovely setting in the hills that looked over the whole town, newly built and was a lovely place to relax and catch a few rays for the day, however the slides were not what you would call "white knuckle" also worth saying they have a card payment system, where to spend money around the park i.e. cafes, ice creams ect.. you have to pre load a credit card with cash which you use to buy food ect.. And when you leave you get refunded what money is left on the card, bit if a funny idea but not really a problem.
we also went on a boat trip for the day around the marmairs coast it was called the "lazy boy cruise" they offer free food and drink all day for a flat fee... just a word of warning the food was basically just a bbq lunch, and a bit of French toast and jam in the morning, and the drink was coke or water, however the trip was fantastic and jumping off the boat into the clear warm waters was awesome... we had a guy taking photos and videos all day of the trip and he made a DVD at the end of the day and left at are hotel for us, think that was about £6 but defo worth it.
(oh and a quick tip if you do get to Marmaris and fancy a bit to eat out try uno mementos along the sea front - prob the best meal I have ever had!!!)0 -
It is easy to get from marmaris to fethiye, olu deniz etc but to get to istanbul you would have to fly or sit on a bus for around 12 hours( maybe it's more)travelover0
