Rights to reject car trade centre

Went to these as my car had little mot left under a month.

Whole car buying was a nightmare, eventually bought a kia eniro. They talked about the 7 year guarantee but didnt explicitly say it had it.

Screen price 13698..I said too much I said 13500. They agreed. When I asked for service history they made excuses but said they'd knock 300 pound off. The maths on both of this don't add up, as the paperwork said they was giving me 6450 for part exchange and I paid 7200.

Also they said they'd throw in premium package.

I would have never wanted or agreed to if not free and I don't want it. It looks like from the maths it wasn't free and absorbed.

They don't produce itemised invoices. Also paperwork says you can't cancel it surely thats not legal. Eg 14 day cooling off periods. Why would you want a tracker what you have to place in car. Over inflated car mats and puncture proof on tyres what have 3mm and 5mm on another sore point.

Picked car up noticed interior trim all peeled away and flaky. Tyre pressure all too low. When I sorted the tyres out ive noticed all the alloys are in poor condition, a thing your knocked down if your part exchanging.

Finally got service history from previous keeper and it looks unlikely it has kia warranty what isn't voided. First service 18000 miles second 30000, although it looks like it was a fleet model in its first year or two.

Cant get any answers from local kia dealer or kia customer services one way or the other. I wouldn't have bought it without a warranty or being able to add my own.

The car itself feels and drives ok and I like it. First ev but the nagging doubt other the warranty and the trim, alloys and the whole dishonesty with the pricing and premium pack is making me want to hand it back fir a refund. Which will be a battle

I have made an official complaint asking for a itemised invoice. And the alloys and trim repairing. I was unaware of service history at that point.

All ive received is a missed call saying they will book me in for trim and to talk about the complaint about the figures not adding up.

Can i return the car. Ideally id hope they've gotten rid of mine as well. Which is untaxed now so unsure how it would all work anyway.

Sounds like you bought it in person? In which case there is no cooling off period, that only applies to remote purchases and even then there is a carve out for those who are doing it as an exception.

I dont get if you paid the price you were told you would and it's just been carved up differently or something else? Its not uncommon for garages to "throw something in" but the invoice shows that they actually reduced the price of the vehicle by the value of whatever they added and then charged for the item; most won't care as they've paid the price they were told they would do and its for reasons that dont really concern you that they actually invoice it this way.

There's a lot to unpack there and quite a few of you issues are of your own making.

That's Alan Partridge level of negotiation. He beat down a house seller from £325k to £324k 🤣

Even if they accept the rejection (which sounds unlikely, given it doesn't sound like you have grounds to reject it), they're supposed to put you back in the same position that you were in. If they've subsequently sold your car, I don't think you're entitled to the paper value of it, ie. You're not going to get given £13500 cash or whatever it all adds up to.

Kia don't do warranty on white worm on wheels. They always say stone chip damage on diamond cut wheels as the cause. You need a very good dealer to force replacements out of their own pocket. example bnought & serviced by them.

e-niro service is 10,000 miles or every 12 months which ever is 1st. So from what you have posted, could be a no go on warranty.

e-niro is 2019 to 2022. After that it is Niro EV as it had a refresh & new design 20,000 or 2 years which ever is 1st

I will say that e-niro is pretty good for lack of warranty claims go.

What model year is your e-Nero?

2019 - 2022 (vehicle model year, not date of registration) service interval to maintain warranty was 10,000 miles or 12 months but vehicles 2023 onwards are 20,000 miles or 24 months, so if yours is 2023 you should be ok for warranty.

If you bought in person then the cometic flaws that you didn't notice are your lack of diligence prior to purchasing.

What is the quoted "premium package"?

Why on earth didn't you insist on a full breakdown of costs on an invoice?

Nothing that you've described gives you the right to return the vehicle as far as I can see.

You could sell it back to them or the likes of WBAC but don't get your hopes up for a decent return.

Another classic comedy sketch comes to mind, Harry Enfield's "I saw you coming".
