    My SMETS2 meter with comms hub attached is a fair bit taller than the electronic meter it replaced.

    There are however flyleads available that allow the comms hub to be placed somewhere else. If your installer has one of these available, they'll have more options.

    There are some photos of this on the forum and if search worked better I'd be able to point you to them!

    Normally n electricity smart meters has the Comms Hub sitting on top, making it quite a bit talltaller than a non-smart electronic meter. However the CH can be mounted elsewhere, alongside or underneath, connected by cable.

    I believe some early SMETS1 meters were pretty huge, my son's pretty much filled up his meter box.
