Manchester Airport APOAC
I fear I have made a big error.
I picked up my partner from Manchester Airport a few Fridays ago and completely forgot to pay.
I remembered on Sunday morning and it wouldn’t let me pay as I’d missed the window.
Stupidly, I now realise this was probably the wrong thing to do. I wrote an email to APOAC that very day saying about the mistake and saying I was willing to pay the original cost for parking. Over 3 weeks later they’ve replied….
Please be advised that the payment window runs until midnight the following day. If this payment window has been missed, unfortunately we are unable to extend this, and a Parking Charge has been issued due to non-payment. We are unable to prevent the issuance of Parking Charges as these are processed automatically in correspondence with the terms and conditions of the site, however, upon receipt of the letter there will be instructions on how to submit an appeal.
Upon review, we have found that the Parking Charge was issued under another individual's name therefore we would be unable to discuss the details of this charge with yourself and will require written authorisation from the registered keeper that you can discuss this charge on their behalf.
The written authorisation must include:
- Their full name and address
- Their signature
- The date they signed the consent
- The PC reference number
- The registration number of the vehicle concerned
- Your full name and address
I was just about to email them all the information they asked for (car is a lease car in my partners name). Then decided to go on here and have seen advice saying don’t give driver details.
I think I’ve acted too hastily - and will have to pay the fine. But any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely not a fine and a 3rd party shouldn't be contacting APCOA on behalf of the leaseholder or the RK
Presumably the original NTK PCN letter went to the Registered Keeper ? The lease company ? Which is who. ?

Just ignore the email exchange. They won't match it up. The recipient of the postal notice appeals as normal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
