Can I approach Excel Parking prior to PCN?
Hi all,
I'd appreciate some advice on a situation involving Excel Parking.
My wife visited TK Maxx at New Hall Walk, Suttoncoldfield twice this week, after school pickup (Monday and Tuesday). The car park is owned by the landlord and shared by several retailers. Parking is free for up to 3 hours, provided customers enter their vehicle registration number on the tablet/screen located inside the store they are visiting.
On Monday, my wife shopped at TK Maxx and made a purchase, but unfortunately forgot to enter the vehicle registration on the in-store screen due to leaving in an urgency. She returned on Tuesday, again made a purchase, and this time entered the registration correctly.
We still have proof of purchase for both visits. As far as we are aware, no Parking Charge Notice (PCN) has been issued yet, but we are concerned that one may arrive for the Monday visit.
The site is managed by Excel Parking.
Would it be worth contacting Excel Parking proactively before any PCN is received, explaining the situation and providing proof of patronage? Or is it better to wait and see whether a PCN arrives and then follow the usual appeal process?
Any advice from those familiar with Excel Parking or similar "registration validation" car parks would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Don't poke the hornets nest they will know they have you baited and ready to scam, it won't make any difference they only want money.
If the incident was this week you will without doubt get a NTK next week, you would be better following plan A then, and follow the newbies thread on here.
Remember Excel provide their "management" of the parking to the landowner free, they only make money from people that pay up after incidents like this. Rather than take pity on your circumstances they are over the moon that they have another victim to target.

Absolutely DO NOT expect a nice chat with the likes of Excel. No idea why anyone would even use their car parks. Notorious sharks.
You certainly can't contact then and that marks yourself out as a sucker to be pursued.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
