IKEA Sofa Warranty

hi I purchased a sofa from ikea on 25/11/2015

about 6 months ago the springs underneath started to brake, so today we eventually found the receipt and phoned them up, phoned twice and after 15 minutes with them trying to find the purchase with the bar code number, I got cut off twice.
I suspect they couldn’t find it, as it being over 10 yrs. so cut me off 😡

On their website site it says 10 yrs warranty, but I am sure it used to be 12 yrs for manufacturing defects?

Is there anyway for find out the warranty length in 2015

You could look in the Wayback machine. There are plenty of stored pages of ikea.co.uk going back to 2015 and earlier.

For example, their stored page from 31 August 2015 says their NIPPRIG range of sofas had a free 10 year guarantee back then.

You would need to search for your exact model of sofa. You might also be able to see what the terms of that guarantee were - long guarantees often require specific maintenance or inspections to remain valid.

I found the sofa Skogaby 3 seater in leather, but in the warranty section it only mentions kitchens and mattress having a 25yrs warranty

I wouldn’t mind if it was our main sofa, I only use occasionally when we want to watch different programs on tv, as it’s not in our main lounge
