Morning all, thanks for the start Scarlet.
And it's a welcome to yet another dull, cold, miserable day - right now it's steady and persistent light rain but at least the wind has dropped a bit. The outside 'feels like' temperature is in the low teens and my living room hasn't got above 17 deg any day this week. That's fine when I'm moving and doing things but not when it comes to sitting - I'm loathe to put the heating on again but it might well happen today! 🙄 Ruby - I had my TD on the other day too.
On a more cheerful note, the mini chopper I ordered arrived yesterday, along with a couple of other (needed) things. I've worked out how to use it and now just need to find a home for it so that will be today's 'extra'. No matter, I'm due for another clearing out session anyway. It's not so much stuff that's been coming in, more like the Justins that I saved from the last session when I promised myself they would go if they hadn't been used over the last six months.
Last night's fish pie was much enjoyed and there's an extra one to squeeze in the freezer - somehow. 😁 Dinner tonight is a chicken & mushroom pasta dish.
@mehefin - Good luck with Saturday's plant sale. Hopefully the weather will take a turn for the better and there will be plenty of buyers.
Nothing else to add so I'll wish everyone a good (if wet) day. Take care all. xx

Good morning all, back safe and sound from my travels. Landing in Glasgow yesterday was rather a shock as the rain was teeming down, bouncing off the pavements and really cold. I left Toronto in 30 degrees.
My holiday was good, only tempered by me catching a cold on the second day and it progressively becoming worse and chesty as the week went on. It curtailed a few days when I simply stayed indoors. I suspect it happened because of a combination of the woman opposite me in the plane sneezing for seven hours, the intense heat and the vicious blasts of the hotel room AC.
However, despite my difficulties I still enjoyed my time there. My hotel was fabulous, I had a small suite on floor 46 which was comfortable and had great views. The hotel used to be a bank and still had the huge vault and door downstairs. This also led to the PATH which is 33km of underground shopping and commerce which helps avoid the dreadful snowfall in winter.
I went to the Hockey Hall of Fame which is a homage to ice hockey, ice hockey jerseys, ice hockey players and so on. My interest in the sport is almost nil though I found it fascinating - the sticks are enormous.
Penn & Teller were excellent. When searching for tickets I had found the final seat on their matinees performance and it was right in the middle of the near stalls, perfect! They were very funny as well as brilliant at their magic, a lot of the tricks brought in audience members too, they were 'rewarded' with bits from the tricks.
A trip to the Niagara Falls was interesting though I found it all far too touristy (to be expected) and got rather overwhelmed by it. Once I reached the edge of the boat for the tour under the falls I turned round - each boat takes 700 people! I live a very isolated life without the hurly-burly of city life so these hordes made me worried. And, I wasn't well too, so fought my way back up the hill and got out. Happily, I was given a refund of the boat fee so all not lost. I was told that 4 million people visit each week in peak time so I wasn't missing out on anything unique. However, the Falls are astonishing and well worth seeing.
Overall I had a good time and am really glad I went. And I'm now enjoying the cooler weather, I'm really not suited to the higher temperatures so can now tell my family that I'm really done! 😀
Now I have washing in the machine with everything else from my suitcase spread out on the floor of the spare room. Once again I didn't wear / use half of what I took, you'd think I'd have learnt by now not to pack so much. Today will be one of mostly rest, I'm going away again on Monday so want to get better for it, just going to Perth so no more intense heat (I hope).
I really haven't caught up with news apart from today, sending love to @DP1.
Hugs to all, and thanks for all the good wishes and welcome backs. xx

I’ve been absent again after a few busy days invigilating.
Plus everything seems to have broken - currently got the Open Reach engineer see trying to sort the Broadband - very impressed, he has shoe covers for when he comes indoors and he’s vacuuming as he goes along! The lawn mower is in for its second repair of the month and DFs printer has decided to fight another week! On top of that DM is not well, just hanging out for the oncologist’s appt on the 24th. Most days I feel like I’m meeting myself going backwards.Great to hear of Gers trip though sorry you were unwell. I’d feel the same about the crowds, really not my scene though I’ve always wanted to go to Toronto and love Canada as a country - Nova Scotia was wonderful.
I’ll stop rabbiting on and get on with some jobs
