Virgin Money have launched vers.6 which is now available on their website. Rate fixed at 6.5% AER until maturity 30/06/2027.

I've been waiting for this as my previous RS matured a few weeks back.

Thanks for the heads up. Only allowed 1 Virgin RS, so if you have a current one, you have to wait for maturity and hope it's not gone NLA by then.

Wonder if you can close existing one early and then open this one?

You can but it’s a bit of a pain as it takes a few days and the form is hidden on their website

You can but it’s not quick and might not be the best option if you already have a nearly full one earning 6.5%

Yes, I did that back in February when the previous issue was released. It took a couple of days. So you run the risk of it being withdrawn. From previous experience, Virgin regular savers are available for a month, so if you close/re-open now you should be fine.

Mine matures on 28/8 so I’m thinking I might be best to close it and apply for a new one? Take it there are no interest penalties? Also, do I need to empty it first?
