AJ Bell platform feedback
Hello I am thinking of transferring my ISA and SIPP accounts from HL to AJ Bell.
Mainly due to the money I can save on management fees.
After any feedback from anyone who has used AJ Bell online and app dealing services.

I use both HL and AJ Bell. Both work fine. I prefer the HL website. For example when I am looking for info on specific funds I always go to HL rather than AJ Bell. Then again I can find this info on HL whether I have money invested there or not.
You say your main motivator is cost. You're right that HL are expensive, however there are plenty of platforms out there which beat AJ Bell on cost.

I think they’re both terrible but AJ Bell’s interface is a little less terrible e.g., AJB doesn’t have the nonsense of HL’s capital and income (or whatever it calls them) accounts for cash, it just has a single cash balance.

Yes I been looking at other platforms too. I also have a Trading 212 stocks ISA.
I much prefer my larger main ISA and SIPP is with a reputable company and one with a customer service at the end of a phone line, and allows shared family account access (as I manage 2 other family accounts). Interactive investor does not allow shared access.

I love AJ Bell and have found their customer service to be first class. I used to have my SIPP spilt with HL, but transferred to AJB along with an old Pru pension. Now have all my SIPP and S&S ISA with AJB and wouldn't want to move.
I recently opened a T212 ISA and am finding the interface awful, will be moving it any time soon. I should add that I hold a fair number of individual company shares and finding the relevant information can be a right pain on some platforms, probably a different storey if you just want a few simple funds/ETFs

Hi
Yes Trading 212 interface is not so easy to navigate. I been trading and investing for years so getting more used to this. I like T212 because of the zero fees and being able to buy small amounts of ETFs.

I have used AJB in the past and they have been fine. Scottish Widows Share Dealing and now Barclays are much cheaper, except for SIPPs.

I use AJBell and II. Of the two I prefer II, I find the presentation of the portfolio holdings clearer and navigation better. That said, the information is all there in AJB, and if that becomes your usual site, you will get to know how to get round it.
II only charges for the SIPP if you have both a SIPP and ISA, so the ISA is effectively charge-free. Whether they work out cheaper than AJB depends on what you invest in, how much you have altogether, and which II plan you use.

Interactive investor is tempting and does save us a little versus AJBell.
what is the ii platform and customer service like?0 -
I haven't had any problems with customer service, but I am generally not in a desperate hurry for any answers. That said, secure messages generally seem to be answered in 2-3 working days. Phone lines (when I have used them) were OK
As I say, I prefer the II platform to AJB's, but probably because I have been with II for some time. Paying in by debit card works fine. I used to have payments to the SIPP made by company as 3rd party, it needed paperwork sent each time, but as that was generally only once a year it wasn't a big problem. OH organised a UFPLS from II a couple years ago, then took all his remaining TFLS. Went through in less than 2 weeks, all online with no hassle.
