Birmingham Airport parking options. Is it worth changing?

We booked Meet & Greet parking through our travel agent, then later changed the holiday and flights. The parking was changed to reflect the new flights as we were going to drive direct to the airport and hand over the car at 3am for our 6am flight.

We’ve now decided to stay overnight as the Travelodge seems good value.

What I can’t figure out, is whether we should keep the Meet & Greet parking as it is, just pay to park in the NCP overnight at the Travelodge, and then move the car to the Meet & Greet area in the morning. It would then be ready for us at the terminal on our return.

Or to ask if we can cancel the Meet & Greet completely and just book NCP 7 for the whole duration, getting the shuttle bus. The return flight is lunchtime so we won’t be too tired.

We were pressured a little bit to book all the extras at the time so didn’t really have a chance to compare options.

Any thoughts? It looks cheaper to just park in NCP 7 throughout, although I don’t know if we would be charged any cancellation fees by the travel agent.

There may well be an admin charge for cancelling the Meet & Greet but check the actual booking. We've got M&G booked at Manchester via APH for end of July, but the booking confirmation says it is semi-flexible, can amend or cancel up to 4 days before we travel. They do a super flexible, flexible, semi-flexible, and non-flexible booking.

Is the M&G near the hotel? Could you amend it so that it covers an extra night maybe and not pay for the NCP, might be cheaper.

I managed to get through to the travel agent and asked about amending the parking to include a hotel. It was very expensive - £350 nearly. They could cancel the parking without penalty, and when we looked it was cheaper to do that, then book the Travelodge with the NCP for the whole duration. It just means a shuttle bus but that is fine. Even the agent said that was the best option and they couldn’t get a package near it.

So the M&G refund was £114. I then booked two Travelodge rooms for £68.98 and parking throughout (booked separately) for £69.99, so total cost £138.97.

All flexible if something happens and we’ll be checking our bags in the night before so the morning is more relaxing. I’m happy with that. :-)

No problem. It's worth signing up with airport websites as they often promote parking discount codes in their emails. I get them from both Birmingham and Bristol on a regular basis.
