Aviva Car Insurance - Change Start Date from 1st July to 1st August?
Bought car insurance via money supermarket with a start date of 1st July, but now want to change it to 1st August. Can this be done without any hassle does anyone know, or will I potentially end up with a brand new premium/policy and have to start all over again.

You can make amendments to Aviva policies via their online portal. When I was going to change cars on the policy, it gave me a cost before I needed to action it. I don't know if it would be the same for a date change (I doubt it), but I would look there first to see if it's possible.

It doesn't seem to be. If I end up having to cancel, do you think they would price match the previous price if its gone up even though both policies haven't started yet

How long ago did you buy it? There's a 14 day cooling off period, but there may still be an admin fee to pay. You would need to check the policy wording. I doubt if they would price match the original price, but a new quote may not be that much different.

I might be missing something here but why not do a quote based on the new policy start date?
If the price is competitive cancel your existing policy and start again, unless there is a cancellation fee, I'm which case ring Aviva and talk to them.
As an aside I'm not sure why you can't use the Aviva app to get a price for moving the date back, unless it is because the policy is not on force yet.

Unlikely, most insurers won't quote that far out precisely because they dont know what's going to happen over those timescales. However premiums could be lower by then or higher

Normally your start date must be within a month.

Aviva will quote up to 60 days before the policy start date.
