AA/RAC roadside battery replacement quandary

OP, how do you know the problem is the battery? You don't want to buy a new battery and then find you really need an alternator.
Get the AA/RAC breakdown guys to diagnose the problem properly.

If the issue is the battery and its flat order a Gooloo or Noco jump starter and get it going yourself in no time at will.
Dont buy the Halfords jump starters without the flat battery boost feature they are not fit for purpose and a ripoff.
You need a lithium jump starter anyway…… even if you still need to buy a new battery the jump starter will get you through all sorts of issues and home ……until a new or charged battery is fitted,.
As for a new battery plenty of battery companys deliver batterys in a few days if you can fit it or a friend can otherwise pick one up locally. I got one delivered in less than 24 hours which was a surprise .
I used a shopping trolly once to drag one back two km from euro car parts getting some exercise….now days I would use the bus with some lifting effort but its far better to buy a deal online with delivery often via Ebay when a 10 or 20% offer is on ..

I’m a massive fan of GooLoo, I’ve got a GT4000, jumps anything I’ve thrown at it. It’s been upgraded, no cheap.

This model looks ok, has the all important boost button to jump cars with a completely dead battery, it overrides the no volts issue.

Regarding the GrePro jump starters …they do not make or sell 4000A or 6000A .
Amazon and Joybuy are telling porkies .
They are likely very good so just get the biggest which is 3000A
Otherwise the 2000A may be ok

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they don't make a 3000A or 2000A either. They are numbers they use to describe them, but they don't actually provide that current.

Yes your right !
Im aware of the general jumpstarter market overstating the numbers in general……but Grepros website advertise the "very few jump starter models they do sell as 2000A and 3000A ."
Grepro do not advertise or market any 4000A or 6000A models on the website at all which is my point so it seems they dont even exist in Grepro marketing.
Amazon and Joybuy or whoever seem to have just made up the 4000A and 6000A figures versas Grepros actual website marketing .
In the end I just got a Gooloo GE 3000A because you get whats written on the tin so to speak with Gooloo.
I did well…. £24 delivered for the last of the GE older stock which is powerful enough for my low use and battery.
Im not sure many drivers are interested anyway……. people seem more interested in using Halfords, AA or RAC and paying over the odds for very little…they dont know lithium jump starters even exist.
Givern a very very large percentage of the jobs the AA/RAC respond too are battery related …a lithium jump starter is really std equipment in a vehical .

as others have pointed out , the 'battery replacement service' may be using different personnel and vehicles to the Breakdown service ( or it's contractors ) differentraining, different risk assessments, different equipment , different response criteria
