ok so I know it's plumbing but is this a plumber's job? Our kitchen sink gets plugged occasionally. We try to be very good about no grease down the drain but obviously there is inevitably some. Have a low profile trap under my kitchen sink. For one reason or another, I had to take it off today. Found a big lump of hardened fat/grease partially blocking it (along with the little screw that I had dropped). Cleaned it all up & refitted, and the sink is draining much better now.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
