No PIP for years
I have POA for a disabled in a care home. He has received no monies from the DWP for 18 months. Does anyone know how to escalate , who to contact, how to get help. Have sat for hours on the phone and sent multiple letters. Im at my wits end Help

whether there is an entitlement to PIP when in a care home will depend on a few factors
If self funding or care being funded
If the former then PIP should have continued
If the latter then it will depend on PIP type - Care would stop after 28 days in care, mobility should continue.
You would probably be better posting on the Benefits board…maybe a mod will move the post

I thought if you are in a care home the money from DWP or benefits went to pay towards your feeds.
I could be wrong but would not you be best talking to the care home manager to find out who is paying the disabled persons fees.

are you sure his claim didn't end because you failed to renew his claim?
Or from google AIPersonal Independence Payment (PIP) is treated differently in a care home depending on who pays your fees. If you are self-funding, you keep both PIP components. If the local authority or NHS funds your care, the Daily Living component stops after 28 days, but the Mobility component continues.

The underlying entitlement to the care component remains but it’s not paid. People get to keep their mobility component themselves, that does not go towards the cost of care.
Also for the sake of clarity, if he was in a hospital first before going to the care home then the time in Hospital would count towards the 28 days.
He should however, have had a DWP letter telling him of any changes. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
