Morning everyone 👋
Hope things are good where you are. Looking forward to catching up. ☺️
Things got a bit crazy for me last week - got a call from the hospital - the op I've been waiting on for forever is less than a month away.
No idea how it's all going to pan out work-wise/money-wise, and everything is on fast forward trying to sort my life out before I'm out of action for a couple of months. Definitely need to pull my OS out of the bag with organising the house as much as possible, batch cooking ahead etc.
This might be my last week of work - I'll find out today if I can get an extension by a couple of weeks. I'll be happy with both tbh - two weeks of extra pay will be great but I could also really do with the extra time on my hands, so I guess I'll be happy in different ways whichever happens.

Morning all
Rain is threatened but not too bad at the moment
Popping to retail park later. Getting a few bits for my holiday next week and I want to buy some flowers for a large planter with legs that I put freesia bulbs in a while back and they haven't come up at all. Looks so bare when I expecting a lovely load of colourful flowers.
Will put bedding on the airer upstairs as the threat of rain later is still there.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all
Overcast here and rain due later and for most of the week it feels quite autumnal 😩 I hope we haven’t had our summer!
Off to mums today and she has a GP appointment so I will take her to that, last week I filled in an e-consult about a problem with my ear I have a continual ‘flapping’ in the ear almost as if something is stuck in there, there is nothing in there but it’s driving me mad so the GP sent an appointment through for exactly the same time as mums, I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence but it works really well.
Dd on a late shift today so just the two of us for dinner I’m going to do a chicken and chorizo tray bake, it’s all in one dish and easy to put together so I will do that once I get home.
I have a wash on the go which will have to go on the airer. I finished the painting yesterday and it looks really lovely, I just need to get some caulk for the edges.
Have good days all and take care xx

Thanks all for the start this morning
Don’t think I posted over the weekend - non-stop doing stuff and dodging showers! Managed to help DM do an application for Attendance allowance, took ages and I’m not sure she’ll qualify but worth a try. Need to do one for a blue badge sometime but she didn’t feel up to it yesterday.
I'm invigilating three days this week though thankfully shorter days and then just a few bits to mop up the last couple of weeks. The I get three months ‘off’ and try and get all my Christmas craft products made!
Hope everyone has a good weekAA

Good morning
It's absolutely chucking it down here, big dog is tucked up on the sofa next to me looking at me with eyes that say "please don't make me go out in this". It doesn't feel very warm either.
Nothing planned for today, will see if the weather brightens up. I think it's due to stop this morning.
Gammon egg and chips tonight, nice and easy. Any snacks can be the picky bits left from last night.
Have a good day all, take care.

Morning again, its grey and chilly here, a typical summers' day!
i was just reading yesterday's comments about shoes, it seems we all put comfort over style! Like TA, and others, my summer style is sandals or trainers and in winter it's trainers or boots. I remember a lovely pair of knee length boots I had when I was 21 - 22, dark green suede with stiletto heels. I woudn't even be able to get them on now!
Izzy, I do go to Dalton Park sometimes and there are some good shoe shops, but last night I was looking online at the Cla*ks site - I've ordered from them before and might do this time.
Belated wedding anniversary wishes Coxy, hope you're ok..
Pity about your bulbs not coming up Chrisca, disappointing isn't it.
Hope all goes well for you Loobidoo.
I had other comments to make about yesterday's posts but I haven't much battery charge left so better go, have good days everyone , take care.

Good morning all from a soggy Mehefinland
Well the wedding was a lovely, if somewhat emotional, experience. Reference was made to Dawn and Chris( Amy's late father) within the registrar's blurb and I will admit to have a bit of a lump in my throat. The dogs acted as ring bearers, and all in all it was a lovely ceremony. Shame the same couldn't be said about the weather. It poured down all day and the back garden where the bbq was became a swamp, pretty rapidly. You had to feel for them - the poor photographer did a sterling job and never once got phased by it. A lovely girl and a real delight to work with - quite how she balance her brolly and camera and directed everyone was an art form. She looked like a drowned rat at the end of it all- the photos will be interesting to see in due course.
The wedding was 'themed' and DIL entered in a dress which has some sort of connection to a game Zelda? S'all Greek to me. Loads of her family and friends, and me and Gwen. The quilt however went down a storm with lots of lovely comments made about it. Think I may have become a bit of a quilt bore during the day lol.
Had to call into Mr T on the way down as I was chewed off for buying plastic glasses - doesnt go with decent plonk apparently lol. Now have 20 champagne flutes to find a home for… oh well they will come in at some point.
Back to normality ( and rain again) today. The new planter for the library arrives sometime so I'm sort of stuck to base for a bit - give me time to sort out a few bits and bobs, and put away stuff which was just ditched out of the car yesterday.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin aka Derek

Morning all, thanks Scarlet.I think our rain is clearing a bit now, still very grey though.
We had a very lazy day yesterday after our night out at the boys presentation. 2 of the mums did the food, and we contributed 3 big pork pies with the team name on, they went down well. Our tea was similar to yours Ruby with chicken and chorizo, & some dips that needed using.
I'm having the same problems with shoes as some of you, I've spent so much money in the last year trying to find comfy ones, and I have a bunion too, as well as fallen arches that I’ve had orthotics for, for the last 30 years. Even my trusty Ske**ers don't seem to have as much support for me now. I did buy some cheap gladiator style sandals for our night out that were fairly comfy, though I was sat down a lot of the time 😊
Think I'll take a meal out of the freezer for tonight.
Hope the wedding went well Mehefin.
Take care all.

Morning everyone
Quite grey here this morning but there's meant to be 'sunny intervals' later.
Little one came home with the news that she needs to dress up as a pirate for assembly next Friday - she went straight on Amazon and found a very cheap looking costume for £12.99.
I said no I didn't think that's what the teacher meant we'll look in the charity shops tomorrow. So on Saturday we bought a pair of joggers I then cut down and made zig zaggy bottoms, same treatment for a striped t shirt and then she found a little fur waistcoat to complete her outfit…total cost £4. We also bought a small flamingo soft toy that she thought would be a perfect substitute for a parrot…so that's stitched on the shoulder of the waistcoat. Oh and we made a cutlass from cardboard and tin foil….she looked great in it all.
Yesterday I went down to the care home where neither parent was happy. My brother had already told me that he'd had to separate them in the morning and had taken mam up to her room. They'd been screaming at each other so loudly he could hear them from outside the front door! After a chat with them both and a cup of tea I took mam for a walk, but it didn't really cheer her up. Hopefully they've gone on a trip for coffee at the garden centre just outside town this morning, I'll ring soon to ask.
I came home and put some plants in, even though it was very windy in my back garden, to unwind a bit and had a nice chat with DD who is in Rhodes, she's leaving tonight to go to Athens for a couple of days.
Right best get my ironing done. Scarlet Ribbons have a look on Clarks outlet website they're cheaper than Clarks itself and are just older stock, I've bought shoes for myself and little one there, and they're a lot cheaper.
Hope everyone has a good day x
I'm pleased the wedding went well Mehefin x
