Quite easy to spot and reveal if you know what to do and what to look for - but they are definitely getting more sophisticated (imo) and are likely to catch more people out

A good way to prevent scams. If you find yourself in a position where you don't understand what you are doing, then stop.

But the scammers have very clever routines that convince victims their bank balance is at risk and the best thing they can do is but Tesco gift vouchers and send them the details to prove they've done it…

Basic rules that you should employ.

1. NEVER purchase gift cards.
2. Drop the call and ring back on known verified number.
3. If you didn't request a change drop the call.
4. If you didn't enter the competition, it would be impossible for you to win.
