Can't get Office 2019 to load on new W11 laptop?
I've just got a new, shiny Acer 18 inch laptop running W11.
I have a legal, bought and paid for, install of Office 2019 that I've used on 2 older, laptops that works fine. It's been removed from those machines. It ran fine on a Dell running W11 last week…
I've installed it on the Acer, but none of the app will stay open for more than a few seconds. I can see Word saying 'Not activated' before it closes, but it won't give me the option to enter the key!
I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled. No change.
There's an MS doc that suggests installing Office 365, then Office 2019, that doesn't work either.
There are no errors during the install. I've run Office repair, that doesn't help either.
Can anyone suggest what else to try??

If Office 365 is installed then this may cause issues on W11 machines when trying to Install Office xxxx
With my new PC last Sept - I had to uninstall 365 first - it was a bit laborious as you have have to uninstall all language versions

My personal experience was that you can either run Office or 365 but not both and you need to remove one of them.

Remove every Office/Microsoft 365 install, including any Acer pre-installed Microsoft 365 trial. Install Office 2019 only from the Microsoft account/services page linked to the licence, not from an old CD/DVD.
Also, because it has already been used on two older laptops, it may need activation reset/phone activation if Microsoft thinks the install count has been exceeded.

Office 365 uninstaller is here:

You can install Office on as many computers as you want but it can probably only be activated on one compute at a time. The OP may need to deactivate/revoke a previous activation in their Office account, but this won't stop you installing it, albeit as a trial.0
