Alternatives to Vanguard funds not available on etoro

I’ve just switched my ISA to etoro, for the 3% cashback. ISA was with Vanguard and invested in their Sterling Short term MMF and uk gilt UCITS ETF. Couldn’t find these on etoro, so need to find alternatives. Key things for me are monthly income, and low cost. I’m not too concerned about capital growth as I’m not touching the capital. Any suggestions for alternatives?

I could see shares/units every month instead of taking the monthly income if monthly income isn’t a practical alternative, but want an easy life so would prefer to not have to sell each month.

thanks

What short term MMFs do they have? CSH2 maybe? Or slightly longer dated via ERNS maybe?

CSH2 is accumulation only, no monthly pay out.

OP is going to have some difficulty finding low risk etf equivalents of the short term money/ bond OEICs with monthly income options, they gave up after migrating to a platform that does not support OEICS.

Hopefully the 3% cash back compensates for the loss of options and the inconvenience of having to sell units to replicate the monthly income previously enjoyed.

Thanks. The cashback is nearly five figures, so may well have to accept some inconvenience in return for that.

Seems like big cashback- how much did you have to transfer to get that ?

It's important to note that no single fund house has the best funds in every area. The two funds you held with Vanguard were not particularly strong and better alternatives exist. You had them not because they were the best option available, but because you were restricted to Vanguard.

This is not a dig at Vanguard, in case anyone thinks that. I will repeat that no single fund house has the best funds in every area.

I can't actually answer your main part of the question because I don't know what the range of that platform is. It may just be worth identifying the funds that are best in class and seeing if they've got them. If not, then move on to the next one. Or consider moving to a platform that does meet your investment needs. How and where you want to invest is more important than the investment platform. In other words, you should not pick a platform before you pick your investments.

They were offering 3% cashback, and there was just under £300k in the ISA

Naively I had assumed that I would be able to find a couple of things that would mirror what I had in my Vanguard ISA, clearly not. It’s not the end of the world. All I was after was a MMF and a UK gilt fund, or ETF equivalents, that deliver a c4% yield. If I have to do a monthly sale, then so be it. I just need to find a couple of suitable investments

So, having had a look around on etoro, have decided to go with CSH2.L and ETNS.L, the former isn’t distributing but the latter is, every quarter. I’ll just have to sell down some of CSH2 regularly to give me the income I want.

Not a recommendation - but have you looked at Pimco Sterling Short Maturity ETF?

I moved to IG for cashback and put some of my money in that. They distribute monthly. I haven't looked to see if you can get it on Etoro
