Unable to complete Royal Mail fee refund form online - recipient HMRC
Regarding an item sent to HMRC, which was delivered but not signed for, Royal Mail are wanting the recipient's email address, as a mandatory field.
Does anyone know how to solve this ?
Thanks.

I doubt HMRC will sign for anything, it would be a logistic nightmare. You should have just git proof of postage which is free.
(I note you have been told all this last month).

It was signed for last year by the company that scans items for HMRC, and they might have signed for it this year, but Royal Mail have not confirmed that signature on track and trace.

I don't understand why you have started a second thread on this? You won't be getting your fee back.

Big companies & gov dept never sign for signed for. It is scaned at local delivery dept.

The signature could be for a bag full of mail, not each individual item.
If you are arranging to post an item put your own email on it. The purpose of the email is to advise that person of delivery. The notification will come to you.

So was the item delivered?

Yes it was delivered, but as outlined in screenshot below from the Royal Mail Claim Centre site :-
Claiming for failure to obtain a signatureYou can still claim the fee refund if we’ve delivered a Royal Mail Signed For® item without confirming the item has been delivered at royalmail.com/track-your-item. Make your claim here.
Thanks to Andy_L for the suggestion.
