Good morning from wet and windy Mehefinland.
Well the quilt is safely back home and Gwen was up to silly o clock hand stitching the binding!! It's off to be washed and dried today ( there's a big machine in a local supermarket carpark) and then we are good to go.
The forecast for Saturday is awful so I'm going to shove my popup gazebo in the back of the car - 20+ people in DS's little house would be like sardines- at least we can escape outside - may need winter coats though😮
My friend is keyed up to do the nags for me/us so that's one less thing to worry about. Need to fuel up the car - 3 trips to Monmouth this week have given it a hammering. Oh well, needs must!
Don't think I will need to worry about the garden for a few days - I'll give everything in the greenhouse a good soak tomorrow before we hit the road. Can't access the airbnb until late afternoon so there's no panic getting there., although we can call into the house first and deposit the wedding present. I suspect it will be mayhem.
Top picture is before quilting and borders being attached. Second one shows some of the detail and the quilting pattern ( waves and bubbles)

Morning all
Not raining here atm but more due for most of the day, I will try and get the dogs out before it gets too bad, I have my shopping to collect this morning. I also want to nip into a DIY shop for some charcoal coloured paint, when we did the utility we had the cupboard under the sink painted white but it’s never looked right and I did an AI picture of it in charcoal and it looks lovely so I will paint it at the weekend.
I got two lots of mince out of the freezer and will make a big spag bol later, what ever is left can go in the freezer for next week for an easy meal. I have put a wash on this morning so that can go on the airer.
Mehefin the quilt is beautiful a lot of work must have gone into that, I hope Saturday goes well xx
Haven’t seen Coxy recently I hope she is ok x
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning everyone
It's raining here too, yesterday it was really heavy at times.
Mehefin - the quilt is beautiful, I love the colours
I'm on hold to the council to try to sort mams' council tax, I've been trying all week and had to keep giving up…I'm determined to speak to someone this morning …it's been almost half an hour so far.
I've spent a good half hour or so sorting out clothes from my wardrobe and now have a pile for the charity shop and some spare hangers.
I've got a few jobs to do before work, including ironing my work trousers - a small person wiped their nose on me on Tuesday!
Little ones first cookery club was chocolate chip cookies, they must have taken longer to make than expected as they were still in the oven when the children went home, they'll get them today
Better get on, hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all, thanks @Scarlet for the start. Welcome @loobidoo.
Any hopes I had of a fine day yesterday were soon dashed when the rain persisted, ranging from short light showers to longer heavier spells. Although there was one short interval of sunshine in the afternoon, it felt chilly and I had to pull on a jumper and a pair of socks. Today looks as if it could be the same. 😕
I made two quiches yesterday plus four mince tarts with the leftover pastry - who says they're only for Xmas? 😁 I also blitzed some crusts into breadcrumbs and that has made me think about getting a mini multi chopper. I'm not normally one for gadgets but my old fingers often get stiff and painful when chopping, slicing etc plus it can sit on the worktop without taking up too much space, would save having to drag the heavier food processor out of the cupboard and be useful for small quantities. I think I've convinced myself!
Today's 'extra' job is weather dependent - if it stays dry I'll take a bag of stuff to the CS, if not there's an awkward corner kitchen base unit that always gets overlooked and could do with a clean/sort through. Tea tonight is an easy one of turkey burger in a bun with sides of salad and oven chips.
@AA - Sorry to hear you had another power cut so soon after the last one, let's hope that's the last one for a good while.
@Suffolksue - I think the 18-week wait for an NHS hospital appointment is still very much a postcode lottery and I hope your private appointment next week will speed things up for you.
@mehefin - That's a beautiful quilt that I'm sure will be treasured, lovely restful colours too. Nice work, Gwen.
@dp1 - Good luck with sorting out your mam's Council Tax, it's almost as if councils don't want anyone to contact them!
Right, it's dry so I'm going to take a chance on it not raining on my journey to the CS but - just in case - I'll take the new brolly. Have a good day all, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
That's beautiful Mehefin, well worth the last week's panic to get it finished in time.
The weather here is going from bad to worse. I hope the caravan is anchored down well!

I’ve been to Lidl for a couple of things and still forgot something on my list how I’ve done that I don’t know I will call later downstairs has been cleaned I’m going give the kitchen a good clean and that’s about it I think .
