My guess is book now we went to Rome last September on Easy jet and watcing the prices they didnt get any cheaper as the year went on.:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

Bear in Mind that Ryanair do have sales from time to time during the year, sometimes they include taxes and charges.0

I was going to ask a similar question about booking hotels in Venice in August.
Any recommendations? No doubt this has been covered many times in the past, but which are the favoured websites for booking hotels?0 -

I normally start with a search for hotels on Expedia, then when I find ones I like the look of I check out reviews on Tripadvisor to see what the general opinion is. Then it's worth seeing if you can get get a deal cheaper than Expedia either through other agents or direct with the hotel's own website, but to be honest Expedia do do some good deals , particularly if you're looking well in advance. I recently booked very reasonable flights and hotels for a 4 night break to Florence through Expedia and when I looked into booking the same deal independently it really didn't make any difference pricewise.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0 -
Booked a hotel in Rome in mid-Feb (just after Valentines) for myself and the gf as it's our anniversary.... mulling over whether to book flights now or wait until their current sale is over (Thursday I believe) and see what they're charging then?
Anyone know whether they're likely to have another sale straight away?0 -
I think you done it the wrong way around book flights first then hotels, what happens if the flight is full?
Anyways again why wait until after the sales, book now is my recommendation. I could be wrong if i am someone will say but book now it wil only get dearer unless you wit for the day to arrive and get a very last minute and then if they have seats available.:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

I've been following flights to Italy for last couple of weeks and would say book now. I've already saved apx £150 from booking a few day's ago to current price and options for Bologna (actually will be staying near Florence but more competition and better prices fying to Bologna +-90 mins driveaway). I think it will be the same for most/all popular destinations. Now is the busiest time of year for holiday booking, and after a dismal UK Summer last year it's likely that many more people will choose to head for warmer, sunnier destinations.
You might be lucky with a Ryanair sale ( I got 1p flights inc taxes to Dublin in Nov) but I don't think it would be wise to count on that as the other fares increase in price and decreasae in availability. Incidentally we've ended up booking with British Airways who are offering a significantly better price than we coudl get with "budget airlines" esp when you consider we're not having to pay £14 per bag we take. Definitley worth checking out the major airlines as well as the cheapies. If you can spot a good deal now I'd say grab it.
UPDATE: BA are currently offering return flights Gatwick to Rome for £85.80 (including charges and baggage) in August. Avialibility currently looks good (Heathrow slightly more expensive). I'd say that price to a popular destination at the height of the summer season is pretty good going and may take some beating.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -

Whose sale are you referring to?0 -

Was referring to ryanair's current sale but basically came to the same realisation as unsure's post above tonight and realised that travel to stansted (not cheap) and baggage fees (£28 for the pair of us - 1 bag!) basically worked out the same as a British airways flight from heathrow (which is nearer to us anyway).
Looks like nowadays it's only worth travelling places with ryanair when you can get a 1p ticket.
Apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread!0 -
Although typically there are now 1p flights on the way back.... still not that much of a difference once luggage fees and stansted travel are taken into account!0
