Kiwi / Ryanair Naming Issue

Booked multiple Ryanair flights via Kiwi using correct passport details entered once at checkout.

Two bookings show truncated surname, one is correct, and both companies are blaming each other.

Ryanair say the agent sent incomplete data, Kiwi say everything was transmitted correctly and refuse to fix or reimburse.

Now being quoted £460 for name correction with no clear responsibility accepted by either side.

I’ve raised a formal complaint with Kiwi but no clear outcome yet.

Has anyone successfully resolved a similar “agent vs airline” name discrepancy?

That may be a suggestion for future reference but doesn’t actually help the OP with their issue.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Your contract is with Kiwi, a company with a poor reputation when things go wrong (not unusual for these businesses). Depending how you paid raising a dispute with the card provider to secure a refund may get a quicker response than following Kiwi complaints procedure.

As others have mentioend. Don't use a third party to book flights from companies which have their own on online booking systems (i.e. almost every major airline operating).

    Yes to this.

The OP had a contract with Kiwi, under which they were obliged to provide valid tickets. They failed to fulfil their obligation, since the tickets supplied were defective. (The exact reason for the failure — issues about data transmission between Kiwi and Ryanair — is not relevant.) If payment was made by debit or credit card then a chargeback should succeed.
