Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour.
Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. LISA use rules
I am currently living in Europe - is it possible to buy property here and then still use a LISA in the UK when I move back later? Or will my only penalty-free option be to use my LISA savings as a pension?
Comments

If you have previously owned a house abroad you will no longer be a ‘first time buyer’ so not eligible for the LISA bonus to buy in UK.
2 -
If you still own the property in Europe when you buy in the UK you are likely to face much higher stamp duty. If buying in England the SDLT would be an extra 5% of the purchase price.
