PCN sent after discount period or straight to Bailiff
Hi, does some of this advice transfer to my situation?
My son picked up a couple of PCN for parking within the University grounds at Falmouth. They were from First Parking They arrived yesterday for parking in March. The first one is from the bailiff asking for 170. I contacted First Parking and pasted in your Freedom Act section, and asked them for the first stage letter so I could pay with discount. They provided proof of postage of the second stage letter through Unity. I said proof of postage is not proof of delivery. They said to contact bailiffs and not them from now.
The other one requested 100. Again I asked for the discounted letter. They obviously couldn't read because they just responded that I should send driver details and they would pursue them.
Not sure what to do next but a bit panicky about escalation.

You havent had a letter from a "bailiff".

No idea why you want to pay them anything!

It says debt recovery from dclb

They arent bailiffs. Nobody is coming to the door from them. They have as much power as the milkman. IGNORE until they send a court claim (if they even bother) and stop engaging with them.

Read the coloured part at the bottom of the letter, study what it says, nothing to panic about
Its from DCBL, Debt Collectors, nothing to do with bailiffs, just powerless debt collectors letters, study the 4th post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum and IGNORE DCBL
Do not reveal who was driving unless you really want to throw them under a bus
They do not have to prove delivery, just proof of posting

I don't understand then why they don't respond to my request to be allowed to pay the discounted amount of 60pds.

Because they can smell money and are standing by the wanting to extort a greater sum from you, because more pigs noses are in the trough
DCBL have been given a £100 pcn and contracted to collect the full amount, and have added on an additional £70 in fees for themselves

Because they now want £170, the debt collecting companies have a record of telling Porkies ….
First parking have engaged BCBL to charge you £100 and BCBL want to charge you £70 for the privilege.
There is no regulation in private parking.

Because the mugs discount period has passed and they have given it to powerless debt collectors to scare you in to paying more.
Read the newbies thread and the other stickies on here which explains the whole sorry unregulated scam,

Why would you even want to pay £60? You won’t be paying anything if you follow the advice on this forum
