The fact it affects both app and website for the whole banking group makes me think it is more than an update issue. Or should I put my tinfoil hat away?

I wonder if this was why contactless Google Pay on my phone attached to my Halifax CC was 'declined' at the exit gate at a tube station this morning. I got on fine around 7:30 but when I tried to tap out 45mins later I was standing like a lemon at the gates being declined

The same setup just worked fine to buy my lunch 🧐

Just trying to log into them all in case they issue some automatic compensation like they did with that data breach

Gates on the Underground aren't live. They will blacklist cards that are declined to prevent you getting in, but they should open to let you out regardless to prevent crushing incidents - likely an issue with your phone or the gates rather than Halifax

I was thinking this while stood there, but switching the card active in Google pay got me through. Very bizarre

tried halifax app about 20 times with no joy

but it's finally just let me login ok

hopefully sorted now…

still no luck with BOS, Halifax or Lloyds. That's app and online…..
