Warning - do not be tempted to Use Anyvan for removals
We have just used Anyvan for moving the contents of my son's flat to a new home. The booking offered a 3 hour time slot for the collection (for a fee). There is the ability to monitor the progress of the vehicle online - it showed multiple jobs before ours, and at 1130 it still showed 2 jobs to be completed. Repeatedly called the driver who said just one more job, or you're next - and lied every time. Finally turned up at 1530, three and a half hours late. The van was too small to take all the contents, and they just chucked everything in, damaging two items of furniture. We were chasing Anyvan bookings all morning and they were worse than useless. The online platform said they were 'on time', even when they were over three hours overdue. There were in fact a few more boxes than had been specified in the booking process - who knows weeks ahead how many boxes they will be packing when moving house - and although they didn't even have the space in the van to take everything that was specified, the crew tried to get cash for taking the 'extras'. We had to fill two large SUV's the following day to move the final items that we had paid to be moved the previous day.
From the day after the move until know I have tried speaking with a manager, either on Whatsapp or on the phone, and they refuse to get one to speak with me - despite the fact they charged nearly £400 and failed to deliver the promised service. They have refunded £28 for failing to fulfill the time slot specified, and have offered me an additional £50 compensation. We spent more than that in congestion charge and fuel.
I deeply regret trying to save money on this move - I had a 'man and van' who I have used over the years and is great, but he was unavailable. I tried to get recommendations but with no success - and Anyvan presents a great website with supposed good reviews - lesson learnt. Only believe what you know to be true. I should have used a reputable removal company and paid accordingly - it would have been worth every penny considering the stress incurred due to this sham of a company called Anyvan.
UPDATE - I just received a call from a manager who listened, said he understood my concerns, but his 'position' only allowed him to offer 15% refund! He claimed there is no mechanism to escalate this internally. It is very frustrating to deal with a company that does not give a damn.

Thanks for sharing, I thought about using them for things from Facebook but I don't have faith in Facebook either.
