Returning VW after clearing 50% of car value

Hi, I would like to return my car to VW. VW financial services stay I can. I am 3 years into a 4 year term and I have cleared 50% of the purchase price.
The car is in great condition. No damage internally or externally. Certainly not to my eye but I appreciate the assessor will find micro stone chippings etc.

Has anybody had a negative experience returning a vehicle like this? Have you been stung by VW for terminating the contact early. Have you found that they find minute things to charge you for, even though the car is in great condition given its age?

Before considering VT, have you confirmed the current settlement figure and what you could sell the car for via the online purchasers such as WBAC?

If there is any equity in the car, you won't get this via VT.

What is the reason for considering VT?
