Which is best to do, and why? Save contacts to phone or save contacts to SIM?

I have them all in Google Contacts so they are available on all my devices.

Surprised that you get the option, saving stuff to SIM card hasn't really been a thing since smartphones.

SIM card storage is minimal and the format/size can be prone to damage.

Anything stored on your phone - contacts, photos, WhatsApp messages, downloads, screenshots etc will all be backed up to your Google account if your phone is set up in the usual way.

SIM storage for phones is an outmoded way of keeping contact information.

Things that are different: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Want to know what happens if you turn off the phones backup and you forgot you changed the synology backup password
and then your phone dies without warning? I could tell you but I think the forums spellchecker would have a meltdown trying
    to decipher my comments. :)

I will use Phone storage AND SIM storage in future for the phone numbers and remember to update my password, especially
after accidently clicking cancel instead of reset password.

A painful lesson that backups are more essential than we realise, if your the person that owes me money I lost your number…
