Regular savers requiring deposits from one account only

IIUC I think Ecology Building Society might also require this - from https://www.ecology.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/EBS-General-Savings-Terms-and-Conditions.pdf:

8.2. You can make deposits into your savings account by transferring funds by Faster Payment, CHAPS or Standing Order from a linked account in your name. Your account opening email or letter contains details about making payments.

Deposits can be made from your linked bank account by standing order or bank transfer, or by transferring funds from another Ecology account.

Correct I fund my Newcastle BS accounts from different bank accounts.

Are there not a group that require the first payment from the nominated account and then allow it to be moved? Scottish BS insisted on a cheque for the first payment and I made the account that was drawn from my nominated account with them, but I have since funded from another account as well.

I think there are some that say nominated account only but don't enforce it (Progressive?)

I fund Newcastle and Teachers from other accounts. It's only the first deposits they want from nominated account.

I always funded Progressive from other, not nominated, account. There was no requirement for funding from NA in t&c either. The requirement was that the first deposit should be made from the account held in your name or debit card.

OK I've removed Newcastle but I'm reluctant to do the same with Teachers after the hassle I had with them when making my second payment. Unless they've relaxed the rule since?

I first funded Teachers RS on 4th June from nominated bank account. Next 3 payments were made from a different account, had no problems, funds arrived and credited on the dates I've sent them.

Unless you've had a different kind of hassle, the returned second payments were the result of the use of the temporary reference (which Teachers had said were for one payment only.)

I've removed it. The hassle I experienced revolved around me returning a missed call and them not knowing what they called me about! (system wasn't down or anything like that). I distinctly remember them insisting that the second payment should come from the nominated account because that was VM, whose app was on a lost phone. I had to reapply to VM for browser access to eventually make the payment. I'm making another payment today (because VM wouldn't make it yesterday; daily max of £1000 to external accounts ☹). If it gets returned, then they are going straight back on the list!
