Claim form issued to NHS Consultant working in Peripheral Site with Paid NHS bays
Dear Team,
I am a Hospital Consultant working for Portsmouth NHS University Trust.
I have been issued a Claim Form for parking violations July 2021
I have worked in a Gosport Hospital for NHS for over 15 years one day per week.
Portsmouth NHS Hospitals Trust pay Gosport Community Centre (the owner of the car park) for block NHS parking on a Smart Parking Managed Site.
I pay a monthly fee to Portsmouth NHS Hospitals Trust to fund parking at all sites worked.
I parked in an NHS bay. The car park is camera controlled.
Following Covid there was a miscommunication between Me, Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust, and the Community Centre for one month to update car number plate with Smart Parking.
Time frame for appeal was missed. Appeal direct to Community centre to speak to Smart Parking was ignored.
Portsmouth Trust Management was asked for help but to could not appeal to Smart Parking or the Community centre.
I have now been issued with a demand for £958.00 plus court fees and legal costs total(£140) £1098
Please help.

Easy peasy! You'll never pay.
There is a current tsunami of Smart Parking claims. So much so, that I now have copy & paste advice ready:
just click on the username@MeltofCopy their version of a Smart Parking final defence posted on April 12th.Don't copy & paste it here as we really don't want to keep being asked to check this defence in thread after thread, which has driven us regulars a bit mad in April/May with this current Smart Parking batch!Literally read any Smart thread…Then follow the 8 steps in the Template Defence thread. It'll be discontinued just before the hearing fee falls due in the Autumn/Winter.Even for a high value claim, it's likely to be dropped at the last moment so you won't even need time off work.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
