McDonalds PCN by smart parking

I stayed at the McDonalds car park for 1hour and 20 minutes rather than just the 1 hour (from what I recall I did leave and come back in because of something however I may be wrong).

Would it be best to just ignore this or should I do the template response I found in the forums, which was:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re: Parking Charge Notice number [insert Parking Charge Notice number]

I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement, and there will be no admission as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn.

Since your Parking Charge Notice is a vague template, I require an explanation of the allegation and your evidence. You must include a close-up photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date, as well as your images of the vehicle.

If the allegation concerns a payment machine, the data supplied in response to this appeal must include the record of payments made – showing a partial vehicle registration number – and an explanation of the reason for the Parking Charge Notice, because your notice does not explain it.

If the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner.

Plan A is always the best option in these cases, complaining about it to the landowner or retail park management company or landlord or business, not an appeal

If you do appeal, using a template, appeal as keeper, but dont be surprised by their rejection

A subsequent IAS appeal is your choice, do or dont, but again dont be surprised by their rejection

    Or

    Ignore them

My recommendation is plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements

That's not the template appeal from the NEWBIES thread. I'd ignore them though and of course try Plan A first but all this is already explained in the announcement thread.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hey @Coupon-mad

I ended up ignoring and they've already sent a 'Debt Recovery Plus' I think i'm going to chance it and carry on ignoring and ignore all the rubbish they send. Would you do the same ?

C-M is very busy helping people further down the line….

What did the land owner and McD say when you complained to them as per plan A???

If I were you now ignore everything except a LBA and/or notice of a claim from Northampton.

Plus make sure you tell them if you move and keep a record of this communication.

  • They didn't even bother replying to me.

Have no plan to move in the near future so should be good and thank you so much @knightstyle just tired of these thieves

As are we all, but the ignore the powerless debt collectors letters hasn't changed in nearly 20 years. !

Just gives you more fodder for your blue recycling bin ! ( or bedding for a hamster. )
