MSE News: M&S Bank completes official transfer to HSBC
M&S Bank has been part of the HSBC Group for more than 20 years, but today (Monday 1 June), it's been legally transferred to HSBC UK Bank. This means a change for those with substantial savings across M&S Bank and HSBC UK and/or First Direct.

First Direct has always been under the same licence as HSBC.
So no change for FD customers,

M&S Bank existed until 2026? You learn something new every day. I thought it was phased out around the time of the pandemic. Shows how good their savings products were since they ended their RS!

At one time I tested it as their cash ISA allowed £1 deposits by DD, I don't know if it still does, I replaced it with other DDs in the end due to wanting to preserve my ISA allowances and the fact M&S bank can be rather paper-heavy.
