39 weeks pregnant help with dcbl unpaid parking charge

Hello, I just wanted some assistance with whether my knowledge on dealing with this parking charge is correct, I'm 39 weeks pregnant and right now my brain is frazzled. I've read the newbies thread, are we following the correct plan of actions?

We just reviewed a letter for dcbl telling us of an unpaid parking charge at an excel car park on the Isle of Wight. The car park is for a retail park and the parking is 3 hours free and if you plan on staying longer you put your registration in and I believe you get 24 hours free so you don't pay, unless like us you stay too long.

This happened in March and we just received the letter today, apparently the one that would have come directly from Excel went to our old address so now we are being asked to pay £170 in the next 14 days. I went on to Excel's website to see if we could find the evidence with the parking charge number and it showed that we had overstayed the 3 hours free without putting in your reg by 14 minutes. We went to cineworld there and the film was over 2 hours 30 so I guess with the ads and trailers before it took us over 3 hours because we left promptly after.

We should have put our reg in obviously but neither of us had checked the run time so we weren't expecting to be there that long. We actually had a letter from Excel with a parking charge for our other vehicle last year when we had overstayed and we just paid that straight away like we would have done with this one.

My husband has update his V5 online and emailed dcbl and Excel telling them the correct address and asking them to erase the old one they had. I can see the next thing recommended is to contact the land owner - I'm not sure who this is for the retail park. And will it make a difference? We overstayed and we should have put our reg in, I can't see anyone helping us - we'd rather just pay the original charge to Excel but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this.

Do we just wait for dcbl to send more letters and then eventually get a court date? Sorry I know this is long but I'm just clarifying that we basically do nothing now?
