These are a couple of pictures of what look like webs covering many branches on my apple tree.

I have done a search but wasn't sure what to do with them in the UK. Could anybody help please

Possibly bird cherry ermine moths, there's loads in the woods near us, they are cocoons for the larvae, because it's been a dry spring they haven't been washed away yet. As long as nothing is eating your leaves they will just disappear

Thanks for looking it up. Those ones seem a bit brown, whereas mine are clear / white. The main reason for coming on here and asking was because I would get a UK experience / solution. I wasn't always sure where the advice was coming from in my searches.

We are expecting rain tonight (but who knows) so I will see what it is like tomorrow.

There are several very similar ermine moths in the genus Yponomeuta, Bird Cheery Ermine feed on prunus species so unlikely to be that species more likely to be Apple Ermine Yponomeuta malinellus. These are so destructive as some of their cousins who can strip whole trees and hedgerows.
