I can only get Superfast 80 in my area (still no FTTP as yet)

Just received the letter from them today

I'll phone them, but…has anyone else managed to negotiate with them this year?

Also - aside from Sky - any better offers than £30 for 80 Mbps speeds? Cashback offers included?

EDIT - just checked some alternate providers like B.T. and Vodafone - and apparently my road can now get up to 2 Gig pure Fibre??!! And for cheaper than NOW's 80 Megs ??

I'll phone NOW first - and ask them how much I can get Full Fibre for as an EXISTING customer

If they tell me more than £25 (other providers are giving it for early 20s as "average monthly cost" over the 2 or whatever years) - I will move

NOW told me they only do Copper - and I'd have to move to Sky if I wanted Full Fibre

However I remember talking to Sky last year or so - and because we were with them for BB - then moved to NOW - if we moved BACK to Sky we would lose our 50+ years landline number

So I guess I'll start shopping around for prices and cashback deals

    Grateful for any leads!

NOW only do copper? What's this then on their website?

I suspect its more likely they mean they can only supply FTTC to you through the existing copper lines. You may find other providers are the same unless you've access to something like Hyperoptic / YouFibre or somebody on the CityFibre system.

You can always port your landline number to VOIP and then have it sent to a mobile phone (for example) and this should remain valid even if the number is temporarily disconnected

    UPDATE -

After some comparing - I found the best offers were via TOPCASHBACK COMPARE

The cheapest (after Cashback and Vouchers) was "EE" for 900 Megs - at Average Monthly Cost of £ 18.54

HOWEVER - when it came to keeping a Landline (after Copper to Digital conversion) - they were demanding an extra £5 per month…for PAYG calls on top!!

So I went with the NEXT cheapest - "Vodafone" 920 to 1000 Megs - at Average Monthly Cost of £ 20.38

That includes a Shopping voucher for £120

    • and Topcashback of £71

Just be aware that your fibre is likely to provided over the CityFibre network, judging by the speeds and prices offered, so you may require some digging to connect the fibre to your address.

Many thanks - after your reply I did some googling and it said alternatives are possible like going overhead via a nearby telephone pole - which is very near our house (1 house away) - so I'm hoping they take that route instead of digging

By the way - is there a way of checking exactly WHEN my postcode became Full Fibre - like a website, etc? I had signed up for the Openreach notification system - but never received news that FF is now possible in our little street

In regards to the last bit, no. I signed up for the same 3 years back and only got notification after I'd signed up with Sky on FTTP.

OpenReach won't tell you that CityFibre have fibred your street; they're different companies.

What does the BT / OpenReach broadband checker say about your address:

Oddly that website doesn't show any results for our phone number - but does for our address -

"FTTP is available and a new ONT may be ordered"

    It also mentions "WBC FTTP"

When I spoke to a Vodafone representative earlier - I think she mentioned THREE companies are rolling out the Full Fibre network -

    B.T.

    Community Fibre

    City Fibre

Many thanks - inconvenient for waiting customers, but also odd

Probably your number is already VoIP with NOW? So your number is no longer associated with your physical connection or address, only with your NOW account.
