Parking advice please

Last year, I received a fine from 5years ago and DBC Legal has been chasing me back and forth for the last year. I moved house in 2021 and didn't receive anything there at the time. At one point, they agreed to reduce it to £60 from over £300. I have been asking the company to provide me with proof that I didn't pay and I only received entry and exit pictures with date showing 29th September 2021 in a car park in Birmingham. I have today received a court summons, however, it states contravention on 10th July 2021 in West Bromwich with insufficient time paid. If I paid for 1 hr, it's unlikely I would have been 43 minutes late. If I pad for 2hrs, this would have covered it. I am unaware of another parking issue in West Bromwich and do not know if they have sent incorrect evidence from another car park to back up their claim. I am going to defend but just wondered if anyone had any advice. I'd be grateful for any, thanks

It was not a fine, just a parking charge invoice. You have not received a summons, more likely a N1SDT claim form. What is the date of issue of the claim form? Show us the claim form after you have redacted personal information, making sure you leave the POC showing.

Use the @Meltof version of the Smart defence posted on 12 April 2026 and with an issue date of 26/05/26 and providing you complete(d) the AoS before or on 14/06/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 29/06/26

For Smart Parking claims you don't need advice. Here's the usual blurb:

    Defending these is dead easy!

Just click on the username @Meltof

Copy their version of a Smart Parking final defence posted on April 12th.

    No changes. No added facts.

Don't copy & paste it here as we really don't want to keep being asked to check this defence in thread after thread in May, which is driving us regulars a bit mad with this current Smart Parking batch!

    Literally read any Smart thread…

Then follow the 8 steps in the Template Defence thread. Easy peasy. It'll be discontinued just before the hearing fee falls due in the Autumn/Winter.

    You won't pay a penny.

Done it yet? Copy & paste defence into MCOL as we advised. Dead easy.
