Scottish Widows Share Dealing Platform Trade Times
Dear Forum, I've just transferred my holdings from Hargreaves Lansdown to Scottish Widows to save money on fees. When buying/selling UK gilts on HL you get a real time price and the deal is completed more or less instantly. I've just tried to sell some gilt units via my Scottish Widows account and received a message that the transaction will be submitted as a 'negotiated' trade with no confirmation of price or timescale. Well, you get what you pay for I suppose and HL need to justify their inflated fees somehow. What I would like to ask is, has anyone sold any gilts using Scottish Widows recently and if so, how long before the trade and price were confirmed? Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

A couple of minutes at most for me, no significant difference given the small movement in gilt prices.

I agree. I've always found it to be really quick.
The idea of waiting for a negotiated trade was quite off-putting before I tried it the first time, but it has always been really quick and at a price I was expecting.

That's great, thanks to both for the information
