Civil Enforcement Claim - How to defend?
I was issued a PCN for parking at Brent Valley Golf Club beyond the free two hour period. I was playing golf so was parked for about five hours. I was shocked and surprised to receive a PCN for £140 a couple of weeks later. There is no charge AT ALL for parking there if you are playing golf. My error was not to enter the clubhouse bar and enter my car registration number after parking. There is a side gate which means you can walk straight onto the first tee without going into the clubhouse at all so I missed it. There is a sign but it is quite small and a much bigger sign says "to the first tee".
I provided my booking acknowledgment as evidence that I was playing golf but this was not accepted and now I have received the claim for £180. I am going to defend this on the basis that CEL have suffered no financial loss and therefore the charge is punitive.
Are there any other loopholes that I can exploit to get them to waive this ridiculous charge?

You will have to go through the claim process, so post the issue date from the top right of the claim form below and also post a redacted picture of the POC from the lower left of the claim form below after hiding the VRM details first

You'll be using our Template Defence with Chan and Akande as paragraph 3, as seen linked in the Announcement thread.
Show us the POC.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
