Confusion over debt solution deepens

"I mentioned I had sent all available funds to my Vanquis as they had increased the rate to 45.9% and my other 5 credit cards were on 0%. "
Providing you were making the contractual minimum payments, it doesn't matter as at that point you did not think of yourself as needing an insolvency solution so you were just trying to efficiently clear your debts.
I agree with @fatbelly. Stop paying any creditors anything (you cant afford it). And go and talk to your local Citizens Advice in a month or two about a DRO. They will be much nicer to deal with and more clued up on DRO applications.1 -
One thing you really have to understand is that nothing happens quickly in the world of debt collection, despite what you might have experienced, it really is a very slow process, it relies on a pre-conceived notion that everything happens at 100 miles per hour, and you have to rush to sort things out, or risk this/that or the other, it really doesn't happen that way in real life.
The collection process can drag on for years, with letters/calls etc, the best advice I can give you is to ignore everything except any letters that mention legal action, most are just threats, if they intend to go down that route they must follow certain civil procedure rules, which we can explain if and when you need to know.
Until or unless that happens, stop paying every non essential credit debt, block phone numbers and make good use of there threat letters by feeding your recycle bin.
My DRO was as smooth as silk, this was some years ago now when stepchange had the contract, there wasn`t the "in-depth" interrogation you got from Money wellness, one tip for next time, only answer what you are asked, try not to go off on a tangent, stick to answering specifically what you are asked only.
Good luck.

OK, that's a good tip. I always ask a millions questions that go round in my head all the time. I realise I am trying to sort it out instantly, I see it cannot happen like that. I need to calm down and pace myself for the long journey dealing with the debt. Thank you as always for good advice, I really appreciate your wisdom!
