Morning all, not posted for a few days after a busy week. My cousin's funeral took place at the end of last week with so many people attending , lovely service. His wife bravely got up and said a poem. I must give her a call today.
Since then have been recovering from a succesful trip to Wembley. DH & DS1 didn't come but Ds2 & grandkids did, & DB2 and family. The only downfall was that the coach didn't have working aircon so it was very uncomfortable 😥Someone managed to get 2 rooflights open which made it a bit more bearable.
We have been taking Ldog out early and in the woods where it's cooler, but it has rained hard during the night. Can't do that today as DH has been picked up by DS2 to look at a job, & go to the garage to check on progress of the camper, and get the air con filled up in the work van.
We haven't felt like proper meals so I've had to freeze some stuff. Just had grazing plates with cheese, houmous etc. Possibly the same again tonight
Hope your Mum is ok today Allie.
It's a difficult time for you all dp1 hugs
Ruby, sounds like it might be a difficult job to take on with the poor man but I'm sure you'll make the right decision.
Take care all, keep drinking the water!

Morning everyone
Thanks for all the good wishes regarding my mam, the meeting with her social worker went well and she made her a permanent resident, which was what we wanted/needed. She was lovely and so kind to mam, but had to ask some questions that upset her. Hopefully she might start to settle better now.
I hope your mum is ok after her fall Allie
Gers - not long to wait now, how long is the flight to Toronto?
I have a day to myself today so I'm planning on inside jobs this morning and then outside this afternoon. I still have boxes and bags in my hallway from mam and dads house so plan to get those tidied away this morning. Then weeding and sorting out pots after lunch, I've planted everything I bought last week so will need to buy more. Also need to repaint little ones' blackboard wall in the summerhouse, I've bought her some chalk pens to try on it.
Best get moving, hope everyone has a good day x

Afternoon all, thanks @Gers. Good to hear you enjoyed last night's production. Not long to go now until your trip to Canada! 🙂
Yesterday was much cooler (but still nice) to work in with the forecast thunder and lightning arriving around 4am (or so DS tells me) but I didn't hear a thing until my usual wake up time this morning. Eventually the downpour stopped and the sun came out so it's a pleasant 25 deg with a gentle breeze now.
It's a late one from me today as DS has been using the laptop to do an induction course for one of the jobs he's applied for and the result is a job offer. He has another one with a different company to do tomorrow that also sounds promising so he could end up with a choice to make. I think he's hoping for the second one. 🤞
While it was cooler yesterday I did some more baking and now have a stash of coconut & white chocolate chip muffins as well as four individual creme caramels and a loaf of bread. The pantry shelves are looking a bit bare but there's still enough for meals for the rest of the week with tonight's dinner being chicken stir fry with noodles, fruit for afters.
@AA - Sorry you had such a disturbed night, I hope your DM is OK.
@Ruby - Such a shame for the man you went to see yesterday and a bit of a dilemma for you too - it does sound as if he'll need quite a lot of medical help.
@peony - I hope your DM can follow your face to face conversations when you visit so you don't have to shout so much. My late DFiL used to turn his hearing aids off so I know how you feel!
@Rosy - I'm glad your cousin's funeral service went well, a big well done to his wife for saying a poem - I'm not sure I could have done that.
@dp1 - I'm so pleased your DM's social worker has been able to help, it's another thing off your mind. Enjoy your downtime today.
Take care all, hugs where needed or wanted. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8
