Parking fine gone to debt collector

Hello Everyone,

I'm a newbie and am just checking if its possible to help an old friend who is 85 years old and has had a parking ticket from Bridge Parking. He forgot all about it and then was confused as how to move forwards when it was out of time and thought they has forgotten??? He now has a lettor from a debt collector.

I've looked at a copy of the original notice and it has named the wrong street, was on a private estate in Cambridge where there was only one sign 100 yards away and no particular road markings as in a normal street. The road just has a continuous white lin on both sides of the street.

I am assuming its way to late to do anything now but had it been withing the time limits, is this something that this site could have helped with.

I'd reply as him to the debt crawlers and change his contact email and postal address for service to yours (as if he moved. Your name does NOT appear. Only your address and email address).

That way, you stay in control and he doesn't get letters. Tell him you are handling it. Don't tell us about the £170 threatograms please.
