Morning all, thanks @Ruby - I hope today goes well for you.
As expected, very little got done yesterday because of the heat but, when it was cooler in the early evening, I managed a walk up to the local shop for some milk and fresh fruit. We had a yellow weather warning saying there could be a thunderstorm and hailstones in our area; thankfully that proved not to be the case here although I think some parts did. Today's forecast is for something a bit more "normal" - sunny intervals after a cloudy start and temperatures in the high teens - before the heat returns tomorrow. With that in mind I'll get on with some neglected chores today. One benefit of good drying weather - I can see the bottom of the laundry basket! 😁
DS has sold another item on the Bay of E and I'll have a rummage for some packaging materials in a minute so he can get it posted off. He's still on the job search and is hopeful of success with one application that's in the pipeline; sadly most don't even elicit a 'thanks but no thanks' response.
Tea tonight is salmon, peas & sweetcorn with baby potatoes. May's low-spend grocery exercise is a partial success in that I will come in under budget but not by as much as I'd hoped. Still, any saving is welcome and I'm using up things from the cupboards - after all, I bought them to use not to look at! 😂
Have a good day all, take care. xx

We had thunder, lighning and a bit of rain last night but didnt cool down for long so a very restless night.
Went out to lunch yesterday with a friend , lovely afternoon putting the world to rights. I did feel sorry for the serving staff as there was no air con and it was very warm.
Hope DS job search goes well Yorkslass keeping fingers crossed for him.

Yesterday was too much for me, I quite like hot weather but I was grumpy yesterday. Nice to wake to cooler temps today.
Took Bdog along the river for 3 miles and was home before 8 - it was lovely. Just done some shopping and prescription collecting - thankfully the shops were quiet.
Might need a nap later but definitely some tidying up needs doing as it was too much even for that yesterday
Take care all
