BW legal Last stage
Hi everyone,
I’ve read the MSE parking guidance and a few threads, but I’m still a bit unsure what to do next.
I’ve received a Letter of Claim from BW Legal for £170. This happened when the driver was quickly picking up their father, who has a heart condition. It wasn’t a case of parking or using the car park — the car didn’t even really enter the parking lot properly.
The place is next to a petrol station and it honestly feels like they’ve turned this into a little money-making setup rather than fair parking control.
What’s the best next step here — reply to BW Legal disputing the debt and asking for evidence, and also complain to the landowner/petrol station?
Thanks!

Respond To B W Legal using the template LoC response
Always follow plan A in any private parking company case
Wait for the Money Claim N1SDT pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL to arrive in the post
Their client is UKPPO

Firstly, my sympathies to you both , BUT .....…
What has that got to do with YOU receiving a Letter of Claim ? ( He was a passenger, nothing to do with the pcn. )

"Yes but My father has heart disease and I want to write to them."
The recipient of the letter does write to them. Nobody said otherwise. That's the first thing @Gr1pr advised in his first reply.
See post 2 of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST, for the template LOC response (we won't link that thread. See my signature below for how to click right there).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks guys I already sent LOC response through Email and they said your father can carry luggages and so I am lying.
But he has heart problem and I sent the report to THEIAS (unfortunately in previous year) and I guess they did not inform BW legal about my documents.
I take my father very fast in a petrol station for 30 seconds and now they want £170.
So should I remind my proofs or do what really ….0 -
Just Follow the advice given above

A shame you outed yourself as driver, but still worth adding that UKPPO PCNs aren't POFA compliant in your defence, so remember to put that in. Look at the thread specifically about non-POFA letters.
